Things to Know Before you Register.


This is information you should be aware of prior to your registering  for classes or the purchase of equipment.  This checklist will help you determine which class is apropirate for you and your pet; vaccinations needed; equipment required; and other useful information pertaining to our classes.

After reading the following FAQ's, you can register online by clicking on Registration and store or by coming to the office during regular business hours. (Click Home page for hours.)  All paper work should be completed one (1) week prior to the start of the first lesson.  Any equipment purchased through the online store will be available for pickup two (2) business days after purchase, or no later than the day of class. 

Classes have both an indoor and outdoor portion, so dress with that in mind.  Jeans and tennis shoes work well.

Do not feed your dog for two hours prior to class or a heavy meal for 1 hour after class. 

Most importantly, don't forget to have fun, this is an adventure for all!

Which class should I register for?
  • Puppy Class:    If your dog is 12 weeks to 5 months of age and under 40 lbs.
  • Adult Part 1:    If your dog is over 5 months of age.
  • Adult Part 2:    If you and your dog have completed Adult Part 1.

What vaccinations are required and how do I show proof of vaccination?

Puppies 3 months to 5 months should have had at least their second series of shots for DHLP and PARVO, including a BORDETELLA vaccination.

Dogs older than 5 months are required to have RABIES, DHLP, PARVO and BORDETELLAProof of these vaccinations must be faxed to 901-382-1120, no later than one (1) week prior to start of class.  Most vets will do this for you if you ask.  An itemized receipt or printout from your vet will serve as proof of vaccination.  YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO CLASS WITHOUT PROOF OF VACCINATIONS, ABSOLUTLY NO EXCEPTIONS !!!

What Training Equipment will I need?

You will need three pieces of equipment for class.  They are required and may be purchased from us online or in store.  You may also purchase elsewhere provided that they meet the following specifications.

  1. A six foot leather leash. Buy one that is suitable for their adult size and weight.
  2. A choke chain (metal not cloth)  For proper sizing, measure dog's neck & add 2"
  3. A 15 to 20 ft. rope or cotten lead.

The next items are not  required but you will find useful:

  • A water bowl or dish.  A butter tub or a ziplock with ice cubes works well.
  • Small bite sized treats that your dog will inhale, not chew are useful.  Tiny pieces of hotdog or cheese work great.  You are not feeding, you are rewarding.

How do I register?

When you are ready to register you have two options. 

  1. You may come by the office and register in person.  Bring your vaccination records with you, and your dog  if you want to fit him with a collar.
  2. You may also register using our estore.  Choose type of class PUPPY, or ADULT, then choose class start date and breed of dog then add to your shopping cart.  Please note: Once you have entered the store you must click on Home to return to our main site as your back button will not work.  When you register and or purchase equipment online you will receive a discounted price for both class and equipment.
